What Is a Game Designer?
A Game Designer is the umbrella under which games are created and sold. A TGC user account can control multiple game designers.
When you create a game in our system, it will need to be associated with a game designer. Any sales for this game will be counted toward the game designer's Designer Rewards.
The game designer determines which user accounts can edit and purchase the game, as any designer associates for the game designer will have access to all of the games listed under the game designer. It also determines how royalties from sales are split between any designer associates and the user who controls the game designer. Lastly, the game designer settings determine which information you'll receive regarding things like sales, and out-of-stock and discontinued parts notifications.
When your game is published for sale in our Shop, your game designer's name and logo will be displayed along the right side of the game's Shop page, along with contact information and your website (if applicable).
Customers will also be able to click on your game designer logo or the “more info” link to be taken to a page that lists all of your designer's published games.
To create and edit your game designers, log into your account and click on "Designers" under the Publishing section on the right side of the screen.
To create a designer, enter the desired designer name, then click on "+ Create Designer":
Once you've created your designer, in the Basics section, you'll have the option to upload the designer logo which will be displayed on your games' Shop pages. You'll also be able to enter your website (if you have one), which will be linked on your games' Shop pages. When entering a website, please be sure to enter the entire website address, including the http:// or https://
In the Contact section, you'll enter an e-mail address, which will be displayed publicly for customers to contact you (through the "Contact Us" link on your games' Shop pages), and will also be used to contact you regarding the notifications listed on this page.
You will see options to choose whether you should be notified regarding sales, discontinued parts in your games, or changes in parts stock that affect your games. The default value for these fields will be set to "No"; you can change this to "Yes" for any notifications you wish to receive.
The "Notify Via Email About My Sales" field will send an e-mail notification every time you receive a sale for a game listed under this designer.
The "Notify About Discontinued Parts In My Games" field will send an e-mail notification anytime a part in one of your games under this designer has been discontinued, whether the game is published or not.
The "Notify About Changes in Parts Stock that Affects My Games" field will send an e-mail notification about any parts in games under this designer that have gone out of stock and will temporarily prevent the game from being purchased, whether the game is published or not. (You'll also be notified when these parts are back in stock.)

It is possible to change the game designer for a specific game, as long as you're changing to a designer that is owned by the same user account. Go to your Games page at https://www.thegamecrafter.com/make/games, and click on Edit next to the desired game.
Click on "Ownership" at the left side of the screen. Then, click on the arrows in the Designer field. This will bring up a list of your designers. Click on the desired designer to change the designer for your game.
If you need to change the designer to a designer that is not owned by the same user account, please contact customer support at info@thegamecrafter.com.
